The magnificent, multi-faceted Dolly. To some, a symbol of big hair and big boobs. To others, a wizard of musicianship and tenderness. A beacon bringing people together from every possible background.

Dolly’s personal background, and the background of this piece are fluid. I worked in watercolor and ink first, giving the background a looseness and softness. Her face overlaying is in very soft, feminine colors - a direct contrast to how she is often portrayed. Her path to fame wasn’t easy. But I loved this particular version of Dolly - tender and beautiful. Perfect for this collector.
