The original watercolor Poppies painting, done entirely en plein air (outside) at the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens during the Spring poppy bloom. There is a beautiful patch of poppies in the Monet Garden at the Arboretum, and I always feel lucky to catch them in bloom. There's a bit of a Kansas and Oz connection for me with poppies, being the field that Dorothy fell asleep in in The Wizard of Oz. Framing is included in price.

Painted with watercolor paint onto watercolor paper, featuring a deckled edge. This piece is the original piece done outside, so it features some of my real fingerprints around the edge and has some marks and mistakes. If you prefer a more perfect version, I also offer prints of this piece here.

Optional framing is included in price. I recommend a gallery mount to showcase the deckled edge, with the piece mounted atop mat board vs mat board overlaying the edges. I also suggest a slight shadow box depth to showcase the edges of the piece. We will choose the color of the mat and the frame together to meet your personal style. I will have the piece framed prior to shipment.

The size is of the paper is 22in W x 30in H. Framed, the piece would likely be around 30in W x 38in H. It could be hung vertically or horizontally, but I painted it to hang vertically.
