Officially licensed by KU, this is Megh's depiction of Allen Fieldhouse, the home of Jayhawk basketball. Like the Jayhawks, the original painting incorporated some unorthodox material: newspaper. Megh wanted to pay homage to the uniquely KU tradition of throwing newspaper confetti during home games at the Fieldhouse, so she went to the source. At the Spencer Research library on campus, she pulled the original University Daily Kansan newspaper from March 1, 1955 -- the day Allen Fieldhouse was dedicated -- and carefully reproduced it. That replica was then torn into confetti and incorporated right into the original painting. Read the full story of this painting here.
